This page is a great example of the type of layouts I love creating! In true scrapbooker fashion, I whole heartedly believe all memories are worth photographing and remembering. Big days like Christmas and birthdays are easier to remember than the memories like the one pictured above.
My boys absolutely loved traveling, road trips, and staying in hotels. When Caleb started receiving treatments in Rochester, three hours away, we had even more reasons to travel. Even a day trip meant both boys would pack their bags with treasures they had to have.
Both of the boys had their backpacks ready to go, and I couldn't help noticing the contrast between them. Caleb's bag was full of books and his iPad. It weighed a ton because of the multiple Star Wars reference books and encyclopedias.
Zach's bag had his iPad and multiple stuffed animals. Zach LOVED stuffed animals. He would sleep with them all over his bed. He laid on them and under them, and wherever he went, stuffed animals went with him.
Now that the boys are older, Zach's bag looks more like Caleb's. Although instead of Star Wars books, Zach's brings books on Greek mythology and Pokémon.
I love this photo and the memories of Zach and his love of stuffed animals, Caleb and his books and how much they loved packing their bags for our next adventure.
Scrapbooking Tips:
Not every layout has to be big and grand. I love these little memories that would be lost to time without a photo.
This was quick and easy layout to put together, thanks to using a Scrapbook Generation sketch. I did take the time to add stitching which added a little extra time, but because the layout was so simple with no extra embellishments, I felt it was worth the effort.
I was also able to use paper scraps to create the banners behind the photos. I love when I can create an entire layout out of scraps. It's a great way to stretch my creativity.
Supplies Used:
