The quickest and cheapest way to make embellishments is to cut apart some pattern paper. I have gone to this technique over and over again - with different looks every time. You can't go wrong with this option.
Meeting Mickey & Friends
These photos were so much fun to work with, but they were very busy with lots of bright colors. so I wanted to do something to make the layout special, but at the same time, not overpower it. I chose the red with white polka dots paper as my background to give a border that would already compliment Minnie's dress and go with the red on Mickey's outfit. But the borders below and above the photos were still too busy. That's when I got the idea to cut apart a piece of pattern paper I had in my stash for years!
I cut out squares that had pictures of Mickey, Minnie and Goofy and adhered them, tilting them slightly to create a border. I used foam adhesive to lift a couple of the images off of the page for added
dimension.
I Just Want One Nice Picture
I love these photos of my husband and stepdaughter. I was going to snap just one, but my husband was being silly and making the process take much longer than it needed to! It also gave me more photos to scrapbook!
I used a teen girl collection from Simple Stories that included a fun paper with many circular designs. I was inspired to cut them out and create a border. I adhered the first row of circles flat on the layout, and then I overlapped some circles on top of the bottom row to give visual interest. I then adhered some circles with adhesive foam to pop them up. To complete my border, I added Nuvo Dream Drops in Enchanted Elixir to add even more dimension and a look of pearls.
