This layout has one of my (many!) favorite photos. I had been laying on my stomach on Caleb's bed talking to him when Zach came in and jumped on my back. As a little boy, he always gave the best hugs and I remember his little arms squeezing me so tight. This picture captures one of those moments as a mother when you think everything is right in your world.
My little man is thirteen now, and his hugs aren't so tight, but I know he still loves his mom. But boy, I would love to go back for just one day when he was this little to get one of those hugs!
Scrapbooking Tips:
I created this layout based off of an Allison Davis sketch . . . and I did it all with 6x6 papers.
As the mother of boys, I don't get to use girly colors too often or flowers, hearts, etc. But when I do choose to use hearts on layouts with the boys, I try to keep the color palette more masculine. I pulled out a Stamps of Life pattern paper pad and used the full sheet of the ocean blue, kiwi green and cloud gray chevron pattern. I paired it with an ocean and kiwi 6x6 sheets.
I made my banners out of a gray print. They came from a single sheet of 6x6 paper. I learned how to create the look of longer banners from Allison Davis - I cut the banners in half. I then adhered them behind the photo to hide the fact they were only 3" long on each side.
I cut the hearts, including the heart with the word "love" in it, with dies from coordinating cardstock. I adhered them in a visual triangle around the layout.
My finishing touches were the mirrored hearts I added around the larger hearts. They came in a card kit from The Stamps of Life.
This was a fast page to put together - and was made completely with supplies from The Stamps of Life card kit. I love layouts that are quick and easy!
